Services
Ready to step into the Revision Room together? Here’s how I can support your writing journey.
Don’t know what service you need? Take our quiz!
If you’re not quite sure what working with an editor will look like, I’m happy to provide a free five-page sample edit. Rest assured, your work will remain completely confidential. Be sure to check out our FAQs for answers to all your most-asked questions.
First 10k Words
Hook your audience from page one.
Whether you’re preparing to query an agent, beginning your self-edits before publishing, or working within a budget/tighter timeline, this service is designed to help you make those opening pages shine. You’ll get professional insight into your story’s strengths and opportunities, without committing to a full edit right away.
I’ll provide line edits and light developmental feedback on your first 10,000 words, including in-line comments and a brief summary of key observations. We’ll look at pacing, tone, worldbuilding, whether your story begins in the right place, and how effectively it hooks the reader.
If you decide to move forward with a full manuscript edit after this service, you’ll receive a discounted rate.

Developmental Edit
Big-picture feedback to level up your work.
So, you finished a novel and are wondering what comes next. First of all, pat yourself on the back—you did the dang thing. If you’re feeling stuck on how to refine it further, a developmental edit might be the right fit.
This is a deep-dive into your manuscript. You’ll receive in-line comments throughout and a detailed editorial report (5+ pages) covering elements such as character, pacing, stakes, dialogue, world-building, structure, emotional arcs, etc. with actionable feedback to get you ready for your next revision and help you feel more confident in your writing ability.

Line & Copy Edits
Typos, begone.
Are you an independent author ready to publish, or you struggle with the finer points of editing? I’m here to help ensure your work is in tip-top shape before you share it with your audience.
Copyediting: Think of me like a bloodhound for typos. This service includes a line-by-line, word-by-word edit focused on technical corrections such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, tense, subject-verb agreement, dialogue tag usage, and consistency of spelling and punctuation. I’ll also check minor formatting issues like chapter headings, page and scene breaks, and indentations. You’ll receive a detailed style sheet outlining consistency choices, general feedback, and a few words of support for your writing journey. Copyediting is the last step before proofreading and then publishing—the final cleanup for a manuscript that has gone through previous rounds of revisions.
Line editing: This service is more stylistic in nature. I’ll perform a full line-by-line edit focused on flow, clarity, word choice, repetition/overused words or phrases, and awkward tone or language at the sentence level. I may adjust sentence order for improved pacing, tone, or emotional impact, and pare down wordy scenes. These edits will help to strengthen your craft and build confidence in your voice.
All edits will be completed per Chicago Manual of Style industry standard rules using track changes in Word or Google Docs.
Which should I choose? If you’re pursuing traditional publishing and already have a solid handle on grammar and sentence structure, I recommend line edits. Your book does not need to be perfectly aligned with Chicago Manual standards for querying—your future publisher’s in-house editors will complete copyedits once your book sells. If you’re self-publishing, I highly recommend combined line and copyedit, then a proofread. Without an in-house team, you’ll want your book to be both stylistically polished and technically clean.
Rates:
Combined Line + Copyedit: 3.5¢ per word
Copyediting: 3¢ per word
Line Editing: 2.75 – 3¢ per word
Query Submission Package
Leave an agent wanting more.
Ready to submit your work to an agent? Congrats! This is a big step and you only get one shot at a first impression, so let’s make sure your submission is as polished as possible.
This service includes a review of the typical query package: query letter, 1-2 page synopsis, first 3,000 words, and a 1-2 sentence pitch. You’ll receive notes and suggestions on each piece to hopefully snag your dream agent*. I’ll also provide details on helpful tools and resources for querying writers.
Fiction only. If you’re interested in only one of these elements, such as opening pages or query letter, reach out and I’ll create a unique package for you.
Rate: $150 query only, $315 for full package
Beta Reading/Manuscript Assessment
Fresh eyes, honest insight.
Not ready for a full developmental edit? My beta reading service gives you big-picture reader feedback on pacing, plot clarity, character depth, world-building, and overall engagement—without the sentence-level edits. You’ll receive a high-level feedback summary highlighting what’s working well and what may need strengthening before your next revision.
Perfect for early drafts, budget-conscious writers, or anyone looking to understand how their story lands with a thoughtful, experienced reader.

Proofreading
The last look.
For writers who already have a fully edited, production-ready manuscript, whether you’re self-publishing, preparing to upload print files, or sending final materials to an anthology, publication, or printer. If you’ve already invested time and care into revisions and edits, proofreading ensures the book you share reflects that effort.
Proofreading is the final polish after developmental, line, and copyediting are complete. This service focuses on surface-level issues only: lingering typos, missing or repeated words, punctuation slips, inconsistent spacing or formatting, and small mechanical issues that can distract a reader. Think of it as your manuscript’s final once-over so your work goes out clear, clean, and distraction-free.

Compendium Creation
Like a handbook for your series.
Are you a fantasy writer with a series in progress and you just can’t keep all the details straight? Let me worry about that for you. As someone who was once called “eagle eyes,” I will scour your series and create a compendium of important dates and events, character names, appearances and brief back stories, relationships, family trees, world-building information, magic-system rules, and any other details you need to keep straight for consistency sake.
Consistency errors can take readers out of your narrative, and it causes extra stress for you. If you want to spend more time focusing on your story, and less on minutiae, this service is a good fit for you.
Rates are dependent on the length of your series, please reach out for a personalized quote.
